About Veganism
To know what being a vegan is all about first we must understand what a vegan is; what they eat, and so on. There are many misconceptions when it comes to vegetarians and vegans, but hopefully once you have read the information on this site, these misconceptions will be all cleared up. If not, feel free to 'Contact us' and ask any questions you may have in regard to Vegetarianism/Veganism.
What is a Vegetarian?
There are many different types of vegetarians but the main kind of vegetarian does not eat meat, poultry, fish or even most dairy products such as cheeses, as most cheeses contain Enzyme (animal rennet) which comes from calf's stomach. They also do not eat any Gelatine as this product is made from cow cartilage, skin and other parts (ewww).
Some types of vegetarians are:
Lacto-Vegetarian . They eat no animal flesh of any kind. Their diet consists only of fruit, vegetables and dairy products(vegetarian cheese only)
Ovo-Vegetarian Do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs
Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarian They eat the same as the lacto vegetarians but also include eggs in their diet
Pescotarian Abstains from eating all animal flesh with the exception of fish.
Flexitarian/Semi-vegetarian “Flexitarian” is a recent term to describe those who eat a mostly vegetarian diet, but occasionally eat meat.

What is a Vegan?
A vegan eats no animal products or anything that comes from any living being. They also do not wear any clothing that is made from animal skin, wool or fur, and they do not wear/use any product that contains any animal derivative.
REMEMBER: Wanting to be healthy and help animals at the same time does not make you a "Hippie".
